Sorry if this is a stupid question but what is the advantage of having this? And why don't AMD cards not have it?

I told you it was a stupid question...

It's really not that big of a deal unless your running one of these game engines (Unreal Engine 3, Gamebryo, Vision, Instinct, Trinigy, Diesel, Unity 3D, Hero, BigWorld). Thank goodness BF3 and MW3 aren't either!
