3D as it is now is a gimmick.
Your definition of gimmick but must quite strange.....a technology that let's you enjoy 3D games in REAL 3D instead of flat screens you consider a gimmick? scary.....

3D is a gimmick and an annoying one at that. Does it give any additional game play advantage? Does it add anything to the experience? Do I still have to wear those stupid, crappy glasses? The answers are NO, NO and Yes.

NV's 3D thingy is nothing but fail. Utterly useless at best. There's nothing innovating about it. 3D has been around for a long time.

This has to be without a doubt the most senseless post in a while so I doubt one person can be that clueless so I assume you are just trolling....
3D has been around for a long and is not innovating.....one great point specially when I did not say it was the first time it has been done and that Flatfinity has been done A LONNNNNNNNNNNG time before by Matrox and SoftTH ...pathetic argument.
Oh and gimmick because it does not give a game play advantage? Are you for real dude?
Does AA give gameplay advantage, does AF or more pologyns, or high rest textures or whatever else you want to mention?
Actually, 3d gives a little something you have NEVER experiences before...actual DEPTH to the 3D games you still play on plain old lame 2D....so while you have to "imagine" the depth I actually SEE it.
And once again, we playing 3D games right but you still experience then on a 2D way....wow that is amazing...makes a ton of sense...lets stick to that and just more flat screens to it...wow innovationg at work!
There is no argument you can come up here where Flatfinity could remotely be a more immersive experience than 3D Vision unless you are playing side scrolling games from NES, SMS times.
Either your post was complete trolling or you are the most seriously clueless person I have seen this week...and I see a LOT.

I take it you don't like 3d stereo!:) The key is the industry seems to be behind it this time and even ATI seems to have relationships with IZ3d and BitCauldron. 3d stereo is just a choice to consider for some consumers and eventually 120hz monitors or greater may have more flexibility and choice to add some more zing to multi-monitor gaming.
No, he is either trolling or has no idea how awesome 3d is thus he makes such silly, cluless remarks.
I am sure when ATI joins 3d, as they will do for sure, he is going to think its amazing...thats how the tiny fanboy brain works..Ive seen it before.

This is kind of a strange poll.
The first option implies I get an Nvidia video card, whereas the 2nd one implies I get a 5800 card along with two extra monitors (to have Eyefinity). Strange.

Anyhow I voted Don't Care.

You seem to be the one who is fanboying it up with your 3D. Sift through your posts and you're pro Nvidia 3D.

I've tried 3D at my friends house equating to more than "24-48" hours of play time and it is something I can live without. When you try Eyefinity (Or three monitors TH2G, SoftTH).. it's an experience like no other.

"3D" is still too tacky for my tastes. It's almost as bad as that Piranha 3D type movie that is coming out.

ummm... what planet are you from? seriously. I'm not an nvidia fan boy at all, but your post is absolutely senseless and idiotic

Make an argument why then, tell me why I should at least reconsider it. The only ones that are are the NVtards. I don't like the implementation of 3D going on right now and It is nothing but a gimmick to me and, neither games nor movies, offers me nothing when it comes to immersion.

The same will be true if and when ATI/AMD picks it up as well.

So, gameplay "advantages" to 3D Stereo are:
1. Depth of field.
2. Expensive kit with glasses.
3. Wearing moronic glasses for it to work. Even more annoying when you already wear glasses
4. The "3D" effect looks completely fake. Immerision factor takes a major hit.

It doesn't matter who makes it aI won't be interested in it at all. Shit, my PS3 will support it (for games and Blu rays) and it makes no difference to me. I even hate 3D movies at the theater. It's a gimmick.

Without a doubt, Eyefinity. Currently waiting for my Asus Matrix HD 5870 2GB to go along with my GTX285 so I can use both. Then again, if Nvidia weren't such bullies, I wouldn't need my GTX285 and just use my old Ageia PPU I got on ebay for like 20 bucks. I would much rather use it elsewhere since it seems overkill for simple physics processing.

star trek online, eyefinity, sailing along as a star ship captain on 3 screens, and a move around HUD, dang the guys made it perfect for 3 screens.

now polish the game up, but spacefights is a great sight atm.
:D

they're both gimmicks

give me a 4K display that uses and accepts a 240hz signal :)

no option for both?

You really don't need either one. As long as their is Bezels, multii monitoring is useless to me being a PC Gamer, To those that do use it, it'll just give them more ways to see how they got there asses kicked in the games they play lol =P. Physx has not made an enough of an impact to justify its worthiness as of yet. They have the right idea but the execution has been poor. It's interested to see it losing in the poll but you have to realize how many primary AMD GPU users try to find a work around to have Physx work on their cards. If has to have some form of importance if some are going out of their way to use it.

Enough with the bezels bullshit guys. If you haven't tried it first hand, you have no clue what you are talking about so stfu. This conversation has went on too long with the same reasons from the same people that don't have it, haven't tried it, and don't care to try it. You stair at the center screen just as you would a single screen. That is it. No looking at the bezels head on. No trying to look at the bezels head on. The side screens are not there for you to look directly at either. The are there to use your peripheral vision, or do I need to explain what that is, since explaining how great eyefinity is isn't enough as well.

The Bezel's wouldn't bother me at all because I would look at this with this context: How does the experience compare to a single display? The added eye real estate may be worth the limitations of bezel's for some. I can angle the screens a bit to help reduce the bezel's but the feature I would like to see offered is bezel correction though.

I voted for Eyefinity with my wallet. My GTX 260 has been retired to my wife's computer.
i'm about to sell off my gtx260 and buy a HD5850 very soon. I'll just enjoy the performance increase, then later i'll get two more lcds (when I have a bigger desk/smaller speakers)

Agreed. Not to mention I can use the extra monitors for my work as I work from home. So for me Eyefinity is a win/win solution.

I'm going to have to go with Eye-Finity on this one. I have experienced a multi-monitor setup for gaming and even with the bezels it is an indescribable gaming experience. It's possible monitors of the future may not even have bezels, which would just make something great even greater.

Agreed. Many of the people bitching about bezels haven't actually played a game using the technology. Simply put It increases peripheral vision and immersion. It really does work well at doing just that.
