Is an 8800gt 512mb enough for a dedicated physx card for say alice: madness returns? Pondering trying it. I see a lot of guides out there using an nvidia card to do physx in an radeon system.
 
Mine wasn't able to keep up with high physx in batman aa, but worked fine on the normal setting.
 
Superfly3176 - looking at your sig.
You have an AMD card, are you running hacked drivers to make PHYSX work. Also, the dedicated physx card used depends on the speed of the video cards used to draw the frames. A slow dedicated PHYSX card will slow down the framerates of fast video card rather than assist it.

Go to the bottom of the page in this link. The next tothe last chart shows the effect of different cards used as a dedicated PHYSX card the effect on performance. This is a bit dated but you will get the idea. An 8800 is not powerful enough for PHYSX. To run a GTX480 you would need a dedicated GTX260 with 216 cores to run PHYSX with out hurting the frame rate considerably.
