im just running low on ideas and if anyone has any suggestions on what else i can do that would be great.

so now my situation.. i've had a phpBB discussion board created back in Oct 2006. ANYWAY.. i just reformatted my computer (if you need specs, i'll let you know) now i noticed me (the admin) can not create new posts all of a sudden. i have tried installing most recent java runtime, different browsers (maxthon, ie6, just recently ie7) and i am unable to make any new changes even to my own profile.. now my other members are able to do anything... i even tried to create a new user, and pretty much what happens is my connection times out and thats it. i still dont understand why. i've tried on a different comptuer that is weaker than the one i am currently using and it works fine. i am able to create a new post.. and that computer is connected wirelessly.. this computer i am on is pretty much my gaming/graphic designing workstation so its connected by ethernet wire. so its decent for being a 32bit computer.

I haven't administered a phpBB in a very long time so I'm a bit rusty, but did you happen to lock your admin account? Or did you change the user group?
 
lock my admin account? you can do that?? LOL. well i havent seen anything about locking it.. but i'll check that.. and usergroup? can u please explain more about usergroup part?
 
the only thing i can think of its gotta be something with my workstation.. i just dont know what it is.. all i did was reformat then install some basic programs.. and this is the only computer i cant make new posts on.. im going to compare settings this time around from my other computer and this one.
 
Oh, you can't post on that account and that computer. But you can post on that account from another computer??

Do you have any mods or "hacks" installed on the phpBB?
Did you IP ban yourself?
Do you get any messages or errors when you try to post on that computer?
 
yes, its my own computer at home. and i am able to post on another computer within my own network at home. a computer i built as well.

i havent installed any mods or hacks on the phpBB forum because only ppl that can do that are my hosts.

i havent banned anyone except a screen name that was created to spam.

the only thing i get.. is that when i hit submit.. it just times out.. and gives me can not find website or something of the sort... im on my other computer trying to compare programs or settings that i have installed that my conflict with this.. i still believe its something on my computer.
 
This problem sounds weird. Sorry for asking the redundant questions also.
Check your web browser settings... although you just formatted so you've changed anything I assume..

You should ask this again on the phpBB site.
 
Also, what is the URI that you're pointed too once you "submit reply"? Is it the same as on the other machines?
 
i had hope its going to the same link when i hit submit.. and no you arent asking redundant questions.. i havent had the time to dig into this just yet.. i'll look soon. and yes.. its very weird..
 
ok reformatted again, installed ie7. maxthon2, then the support guys told me just try firefox.. still wont work.. i am now stumped.. could it be my router???

well funny thing is...i installed windows vista.. and it seems to post fine... could it be my NIC?
