Photoshop/Illustrator CPU preference?

... Photoshop is *not* a rendering program, at least not in the sense that you are talking about. When Photoshop goes and opens a .psd file, DMA takes the data straight from the HD to RAM, where it's grabbed by the video card, again thru DMA (not called that called something else w/ AGP but same concept). Now, I understand what you are saying about when you're doing stuff like blurs and other effects. But what i'm refering to is people saying that photoshop loads files quicker on a P4, which is bullshit.

Are you asking this to be a flame war? Are you nuts? Damn I hope this thread gets locked soon.

BTW....Bush is sending our jobs overseas...and turning the world against us. I'm not a big Kerry fan, but it's time for a change at the top.

well in that case I guess Id have to go

Quantum > Existentialist > Zappa

we venerate dead pre$ident$ so much,
maybe we should elect one prepackaged :p

but this needs to stay on topic
for example:

Id recommend doubling the RAM ;)

as a "business man" you must understand what an AGREEMENT is. im sure intel was well within their "rights" to do what they did, i'm saying that they're only doing that to screw over AMD. AMD hasnt had a profit for the past...how many years? Is that innovation? If AMD died out you think thered be innovation and competition? I'm all for a free market but I'm NOT for irresponsible greedy companies. Intel hasnt shared that technology readily because then AMD would make a profit, taking a few precious dollars from intel's 9 figure profit, which in fact DOUBLED this year. DOUBLED. You think that they would even NOTICE the money lost (its not even money lost at this point) if AMD could compete effectivly? You think thats "encouraging competition and innovation" by stifling the competition?

Classic dilusional liberal hyperbolie. If AMD died another start up company would fill the vacume. In fact I can even tell you who would take a shot at it.................... Nvidia would hire the non dead wieght from the debunked AMD and a "computer on a chip" company would be formed.

This would start a new erra and Intel would be forced to release products it has on the shelf for some time. The battle will ensue and we as consumers would benifit yet again.

Dont forget the other players like Via and TRansmetta and the like. Let the free market decide not a misguieded socialist ideal.

My appologies to the thread, i felt i had to respond. Wont happen again

Viva la Liberty and down with Socialist/Communist views.
