... Photoshop is *not* a rendering program, at least not in the sense that you are talking about. When Photoshop goes and opens a .psd file, DMA takes the data straight from the HD to RAM, where it's grabbed by the video card, again thru DMA (not called that called something else w/ AGP but same concept). Now, I understand what you are saying about when you're doing stuff like blurs and other effects. But what i'm refering to is people saying that photoshop loads files quicker on a P4, which is bullshit.
