I have used Photoshop CS5 multiple times, but recently it stopped working on my machine. I have a GTX 285 video card that i pulled thinking it was the cause, yet it still doesn't work. I can open PS, but as soon I as try to open an image PS stops responding and freezes.

I have updated my on board graphics drivers and still not working. I had Win 7, it didn't work on there right before i switched to Win 8. It is basically a fresh install, no other programs on the OS drive. I don't know where to check next.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I have had this problem too,
after all was said and done after I spoke with the adobe support people was to just re install Photoshop.
If you can make sure you back up your custom brushes, scripts, etc.
because I think it will be lost. Mine were anyway.

Im pretty sure it was my GPU causing the problems. I also just installed CS6 and so far no problems.
