Photo printer?

I have a Canon MP830 that I did not use enough and have been battling clogged nozzles and shitty print patterns. Photos that come out of it used to look great.

With that being said, what is a decent and affordable photo printer that could do some larger formats? I am not looking for art gallery grade but I don't want a cheap turd either.
 
How big of a format are you talking about? Because the price gap between your every day 8x10 and something that is 17" wide is astronomical. Truth be told, I always liked Epson for every day photo printing, but they come at a price. It's all worth it if you plan on using it, but if you're only going to print just a handful of photos at an unusual size, I'd strongly suggest going with a photo lab instead.

FWIW, an Epson R2880 would be considered "affordable" large format photo printer.
 
Canon Pixma Pro9000, easily the one of the best photo printers I ever owned.... produces awesome prints that can be gallery grade (that or the pro9500). You can get new ones from photography forums from 200-250 maybe less...
 
I am not sure how much printing I am going to do yet, but I would like to do some. I might just go to the store to start with and go from there.
