Philips 200W6CS '20" LCD - your opinion ?

Hi to all !

I am planning to buy new monitor (widescreen) and I found this model Philips 200W6CS '20" LCD.
So, what is your experience of this monitor (for owners) ? Is it worth to buy it ?
My main work will be programming, internet, some games (misc) and few DivX movies per week.

...I have never heard of this monitor, you should post a link to the site of where you found it. Also, have you looked at the dell 2005fpw, it's a 20" widescreen, and you can get them for around 370, with coupons.
 
That is WAY too much! If you want to spend that much money look around for coupons and pick up a dell 2405. It's a 24" widescreen LCD w/ a 12ms/8ms response time (I don't remember how fast). A ton of people have them around here, and you can pikc one up for under 700. It depends on your graphics card though, if you don't have a top of the line graphics card, then your going to need one. You could also look at the 2005 I mentioned earlier, that one is, once again, around 370. Do not pay 1000, for that monitor. You should really look into the two i mentioned. Also, they both have their own threads.

Well, I just posted this link only for specs, not for price.

And, I am in Croatia, Europe, not in New Zaeland :)

So, this Phillips I can get here for 800 USD (yes, it is too much :( ),

and Dell 2405 is around 1500 USD here in Croatia.

So, as you can see, big difference in price (can get 2 of those Phillips monitors for the price of 1 Dell 2405).

Right now I have 19" Xerox LCD and would like to buy another LCD monitor because my main work is programming and internet.

I have Gainward 6800GT 256 Mb, 2 x DVI graphics card, AMD 64 3000+, 3 Gb RAM, etc...

I would go for the dell 2005. It's 20" and widescreen and probably cheaper. I don't know if you can get dell products in croatia though. I don't know if you put that in your post or not.
 
Well, no, Dell 2005 is not cheaper here in Croatia, it is aprox.200USD more expensive than this Phillips.

i think it has the same panel as the dell 2005fpw,

it could be OK ...


but you really never know untill you see it in person, try it, or ask someone who already has the exact same model ...
