Hi, i went to the philippines for a whole month in febuary and here are some pics i can share with you from my vacation.

i used a tamron 17-50 F2.8 along with a canon 400d body, caonon 50mm F1.8 lens and a 430ex II flash i brought along with me.

I should take a trip to the dark sand colored beaches someday.

I just visited the Philippines about 2 weeks ago. Wow, wish I had done your tour. I was in Manila and it was to city like for me.

Manila is the worse place to spend your time their. go visit some of the many islands and province to see the real Philippines

My family and my wifes family are from cabanatuan city. Some of the pics were taken their such as the sunrise and sunsets across the rise fields as we live pretty much in the middle of them

The main shopping/busy areas is only 5-10mins away from where we are so its not too bad. i like it where we are because its very quiet and beutiful as you can see, i get to see the sun rise and sets from either at the front of our house or at the back

Nice, the place where my parents originally came from is a couple of hours away from Cabanatuan City.
So Far, I've only been to Dagupan, Baguio, Manila, Cavite, and Makati City.

Baguio has to be one of the most scenic places I've ever been to so far and Makati City... is literally the first City I've ever seen in PI that isn't as polluted as the other cities in PI (unless that changed since the last time I visited, 2004)

For the pictures 3 & 17, imo They would look great as postcards.

I have visited PI three times; as a child, in high school, and just 3 years ago. Nothing beats the food there, and the people are happy and friendly. Good times...

Great shots, Jonney! I went to the Philippines for a couple months in early 2000 - still have very fond memories of that, and would love to go back some day.

I was still shooting with a film P&S back then, so none of my shots were this good. I keep meaning to scan them all so I can use them again. One great thing about Manila for photography (at least it was in 2000) was that the insane amount of pollution in the air created it's own weather patterns over the city: some of the most amazing sunsets I've ever seen in my life! Those were generally the best pics I got while I was there.
