What next advanced chipset is in planning stage for the Phenom processor with SLI capability. I don't expect AMD chipsets to support SLI since they own ATI.

Without SLI for the Phenom looks like I will have to move back to a Intel processor.

I was really looking forward to some Phenom Black Edition overclocking. Bummer!

There are some Nvidia chipsets that support phenom. I cant think of any am2+ ones but there are some regular am2 ones.

The 780a SLi AMD edition boards will be hitting sometime next month, so hang tight.

Meanwhile, Gigabyte's 570i SLI board is Phenom ready. Not so for the 590, so you'll have to settle for x8/x8. Sorry, no double-16 SLI just yet.

I agree to wait for a real nvidia chipset to support AM2+ and not just an AM2 board with Phenom support in the bios. HT3, split voltage, PCIe 2.0, + hopefully other new features are nice to have if you are buying a new board anyways,
Jason

Some 590SLi boards will work, not the reference ones however, but yeah, you may want to wait for 780a.

What's the 570i? Wouldn't that be an Intel chipset? Doesn't Nvidia generally append "a" for AMD based and "i" for Intel based?

EDIT: Nevermind, the 5xx series didn't have the i or a suffix, the 6xx and 7xx did.

When are the 780a's coming out?

Still looking for a board for my built. Bought the M2n-SLI Deluxe but returned it.

AMD 6000+ 64 X2
MSI NX8600GTS-OC
Corsair Twin2x2048-6400C4HDX

Im waiting for an AM2+ / SLI solution as well... its either that, or I have to jump ship over to the Intel side of things (not going to give up nVidia for ATI, thats for sure).

Then Im guessing Ill be able to upgrade to Phenomm and go SLI if i got M2N-SLI Deluxe nForce570 SLi Socket AM2 motherboard?
