I had recently upped my freq on this cpu on computer in signature from 200 to 216 and moved the multiplier up to 17.00 in the turbov evo tool on my Asus motherboard in sig. Then when I go to the CoreTemp 0.99.8 App for check temps and speeds the multiplier seems to go from 4.0 to 11.0 then to 17.0 sporadically. Is this some normal thing my processor is doing or some sort of malfunction. Everything seems to work fine.. Thanks for any input.

like korben mentioned. thats the cool 'n quiet feature to save power and lower idle temps. you can leave it on or turn it off. its your choice.

thanks I'll check that out in the BIOS. Another thing I noticed is that this auto tune button bumped the CPU voltage from 1.375 to 1.425 and the CPU/NB voltage from 1.1 to 1.15 just for a CPU freq. increase from 200 to 216. Does this seem right to increase the voltage this much?

Any kind of automatic over-clocking feature is going to be overly cautious. They tend to raise the voltage a bit more than necessary in order to keep stability. The best thing is to do it manually. It takes time, but it's worth it in the end.
