Is anyone running 4x2gb of memory?
any problems?
what speed is the memory running at?

You're not going to be able to run at 2000mhz. It's not going to happen so forget it. 1600-1700mhz is about the most you can get from the imc unless you're benching at sub 0C temps. Imc is spec'd at 1333 max by amd but many people run 1600mhz.

I'm running 4 sticks of DDR2 1120. All I did was raise the northbridge-cpu vid a step up as a precaution. I haven't had any problems what so ever.

I have 4x2gb Mushkin CAS9 1600 that I can't run at 1600 with my 955be. This is on an ASUS M4A78T-E mobo. Interestingly, though, I can set the memory at 1333 cas7 (7-7-7-21 1t). Seems as though some combinations can't run the 1600 natively if the 1600 timings are too loose stock.

its the same price as the 1600 so i figure what the hell why not

I'm not saying not to buy it, just don't expect it to run at 2000mhz. Probably the same chips on both sets just relaxed timings to get to 2000mhz.

I try running a X2 720BE with 4x2GB DDR3-1600. Manually setting the timings and speed the computer would boot up fine and all. However it wouldn't run stable in any test I ran at it (i.e. IntelBurnTest, Prime95, AMD overdrive, etc). It would eventually BSOD after a few hours.

It ran stable at DDR3-1333. It seems everyone has to do this.

You'll find out on Monday ;) I am building a Phenom 955 based system with 4 2 GB sticks of G.Skill at DDR3-1333 ;)

I run with x4 2GB sticks of DDR3 pc 1600. Unfortunately my processor "wants" to run at pc 1066. I plan to bump up the speed to pc 1333 with a little more research.

+1 on the 955! Can't wait for my 955 to arrive next week. :)

I can vouch that 4X2gb works with a 955 and ddr2. see sig

shadow is correct.. the only way to run that memory at 2000mhz is overclocking the processor using the FSB.. also remember the phenom II is only rated for ddr2 1333.. to get the 1600 the motherboard modifies the multiplier so that the cpu still thinks its at 1333 even though its not.. there is no way to do this to get ddr3 2000mhz so FSB overclocking is the only way to do that.. plus extra cpu voltage.. since the cpu voltage also controls the NB voltage..

the phenom II's also dont suffer from the dredded 4 sticks of ram and overclocking problems like older amd processors..

Even overclocking the fsb/ht reference clock, you're not getting 2000mhz. If you get 2000mhz on air/water, you'll be the first as far as I know.

my GF runs a 940BE with 4x2GB, it originally ran at 1066, but it was a tad unstable, so i dropped it back to 800, solved any instability

It isnt perfect, but she wanted that 8gb, and for her needs (picture editing etc..) more memory is more important then absolute bandwidth

ive never seen anyone try it.. thats the difference.. i want to see some one try it.. :p

weird i had no problems running 4 sticks at 1066 on my 940BE.. may be a voltage thing.. since my 940 only ran stock speeds/voltage for 2 hours.. been at 3.5ghz 1.465v ever since..

yeah, im betting i could get it stable, but it would take some fidgetting, and my GF just wants her pc to work, period. I didnt tell her when i dropped the ram to 800, she hasnt noticed a thing speed-wise, and this way is hastle-free

i have no problem screwing with my own machine's settings, but my GF gets pissed off when she cant use her machine because i'm working on it :p

yeah for what she does she wouldnt notice a difference what so ever.. 99% of the ram shes using is just for storage and isnt effected by the speed..
