Phenom 9750 for virtualiuzation

It appears to support VT, I've never used that CPU myself for VT stuff but I imagine it could run a couple VMs. Depending on your goals, it may or may not be up to snuff performance-wise. That'll be workload dependent for sure.

They work just fine for that, and they weren't bad quad core CPUs. Finding more DDR2 memory isn't cheap or easy these days, but if you've already got a machine based around that processor go for it.

I was about to say, the original Phenoms trailed equivalent Core 2 parts a little but were quite competent in their time. They're not terribly cool-running and scaring up enough DDR2 for demanding VMs could be more expensive than they're worth, but if you had enough spare RAM laying around then it's worth a try.

Fun fact: modern AM1 quad cores are at least as fast on average, use cheap DDR3, and consume about 1/4th the power, and have a competent GPU built in. Just a thought!
