Ive switched domains, and just to test something I installed a fresh copy of PhpBB2 onto the new domain. I went to the old one, saved the database to my desktop (about 44KB). Went to the new domain, installed the Style/theme, and proceeded to restore the database from the file I had saved.
Everything seems to work, except no new posts can be made, it just gives a parse error.
What is the proper way to backup a forum database from one domain, and restore it to a forum on another? The current setup isnt important if posts are lost, its just a test to see what would happen. Im glad I did it now, if I ever had to relocate or move anything around on a larger forum and this problem happened... Things wouldnt go over well.
