phase power

Hello

What really should matter with these boards?
6, 8, 12 or 16 phase power?
I really am looking for tri ddr3 and sli with 2 cards.
I am not going to overclock. I7 920 and ddr3 1333 3x1 set up is what I am looking to do.

This is what I have so far, I7 920, G.SKILL F3-10666CL9T-3GBNQ 3GB and two 8800 GTS 512mb cards. I do not want to spend over 300 on a motherboard.

If you aren't going to overclock, then the number of power phases doesn't really matter.

I have seen the MSI Platinum, and it only has 5 phase power and still gets very nice overclocks (210+ bcl), so I wonder if the gigabyte's 12phase power and asus's 16phase power is only gimmick
