I've reinstalled and set up my speakers in a different room (DTT 3500 Cambridge Soundworks/Creative labs, using a SB Live 5.1 Card. Lately I've noticed a discretely annoying sound that happens sometimes when I am playing music. When I try to check each speaker to see if it is causing it, i can never hear it. What could be causing this? I suspect it might have something to do with my location. Here are the things I've done :

1. Checked all wire connections. I've used wire strippers to make sure there is a solid contact in the connection.

2. Checked SB Card problems. No problem with headphones so it must be the speakers.

3. Reinstalled sound card drivers.

EDIT : I have confirmed that it is not just the speakers. I try headphones and have the same problem. What could this be? I notice it playing mp3's and playing CS:S. Not in EQ II though.
