Phantom Blade Zero

I guess it depends upon what you want from a game.

Lots of people do not like how difficult many soulslikes and character action games, are.

I haven't actually played PBZ, yet. But, based on some reviews and also watching part of Maxdood's ongoing live stream:

I would say the game overall, is medium difficulty. Max (whom loves soulslikes and character action games) has died a few times. But, he is not dying a dozen times in a row, or something.....
....and now he is dying MANY TIMES, to the first encounter with Donnie Yen.

19 hours in, having a blast.

i think the complexity in combat comes from your choice of weapons. im playing it fairly safe with a bleed sword, but there is tons where you can seemingly do crazy combos.
great and memorable bosses, not too hard, but not a cakewalk either. some of them really kick your ass for a while until you figure it out.

just got to the city, all the areas have been great visually so far.

story is kinda all over the place, and leaves a lot for you to figure out by yourself. if you just skip through all the lore bits you'd probably have no idea whats going on.

can only recommend the game. its great fun

edit: also just remembered one review saying the last 10 hours, which are optional after the ending, were the best of the whole game. so im really looking forward to that. gotta go on a trip for a couple of days, gonna be REAL hard not to be all grumpy about it, cause i cant play my shiny new game

Phantom Blade Zero Handheld Performance Review

REVIEW HANDHELD GAMING
Phantom Blade Zero is S-Game's first AAA project. The game is a flashy action RPG set in a "Kungfupunk" world, revolving around fast-paced combat with tons of parrying and dodging. It's built in Unreal Engine 5 and seems rather demanding, so let's see how it performs on some of the most popular PC handhelds around.
