Just got a Phantek heatsink and was wondering if I should use the phanteks thermal paste or soemthign else? I havent applied paste in over a year so not sure whats out that is good or if this was good.

Wow, this forum used to get me a ton of replies.. Come on guys give an old timer a hand!

Phantek thermal is the same as the Noctua, a good paste, no need to pay for other stuff. Actually both companies have their coolers made by the same OEM.

Witch Phantek you get ? ,

I got this one...

I know Phanteks has new fans out although they aren't officially released they are already being included on the black coolers according to my conversation with them today. They said Directron just got an order from them that includes the new fans so hopefully I get one of those. I am burned out on the closed loop water cooling systems... My H100 was pretty good but I went to an H100i and that was the biggest mistake I ever made.. horrible pump noise with or without using the fan control and my temps didn't seem really any better than the original. The software needed updating for Windows 8 support. My setup was quieter with air cooling so back I go.

I have now 2 Phantek, and 7 Noctua, When I receive my first Phantek I know right away they was made at same place. It's Kolink International Corporation who build them. The paste is exactly the same, even the seringe is the same, only the lable is different, but you can see the labels are made at same place too. Artic 5 and MX-2 are a little bit better, but it's not worth to spend on them, just use the one you have.

If phantek is indeed the same at the noctua NT-H1, then by all means use it! I use the NT-H1 and it's great stuff, gives great temps, isn't too runny or thick. When you apply do a small dot in the middle, equivalent to the size of a grain of rice. The pressure of the heatsink will spread out the paste and give you even coverage.

I had some MX-2 and MX-3 laying around but for the life of me I can't find it. Ill give the phanteks paste a shot.

Phanteks TIM is good. Have used it many times in last year.

Am trying Chill Factor 3 now as a mate swears by it.

Just got one of the new Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK with new PH-F140 fans.
Here's front and back images of new PH-F140 and old PH-F140TS. The vibration dampeners are not on the old F140TS fan.

No I haven't compared them yet.
According to Silent PC they perform better than Noctua NF-P14 fans on cooler. by 1c @12v and

I'm setting up a new system to play my coolers and fans with. I'm putting together an EX58-UD3R with i7 920 and overclock it to use to compare coolers and fans on. Than I'll be able to put them all on same cooler and see what they do.

I got the heatsink in... my temps are about 6C better than my H100i... I had installed Helix fans on the H100 but for some reason the Phanteks in my setup runs much cooler. I am ditching the Helix fans and swapping my case fans out to PWM Noise Blocker eloop 400-1500 rpm fans that I will throttle down to around 600rpm.. right now my heatsink fans throttle down to 680rpm and seem pretty quiet. All I hear right now are the loud azz Helix fans I have blowing air out through the top..
