PGA TOUR 2K21 tees off this August

I was kinda surprised to see this pop up. I thought the franchise was dead in the water, but it looks like HB Studios, the developers of The Golf Club have been contracted to develop a new PGA tour game. It will release on PC along side consoles and Switch.

It really wasn't dead, though. They just have not had annual releases like the development farm at EA before they gave up the license. The last game came out about 2 years ago.

One of those sports I'd never want to do in real life, let alone watch someone else doing it, but it was fun in videogame format.

You just need to ensure there are plenty of beers while you race around the course in little carts like idiots. But I digress... Yes the videogame format is oddly satisfying, however looking at the previews, I get the feeling this is a bit of a "phone in" and doesn't resemble much of the character progression and charm of the previous games. It seems to have ZERO personality. I hope I am wrong!
