Hey there,
So I've had a PG32UQX since late 2021, and it's still my monitor of choice despite all the OLED options on the market now which are far from impressive. Now, I've been looking around on this forum and I've seen a few people claim that the new PG32UQX's have improved the bloom issues.
I'm sitting here typing on an M3 MacBook Pro with an XDR FALD display and I'm noticing zero bloom, and I would love to have this level of FALD algorithm on my actual display as well.
My monitor is under warranty until 2026 from BestBuy (GeekSquad). Do you think it's worth exploring getting the monitor replaced (it otherwise has zero issues apart from the bloom that has always been an issue on the PG32UQX)? Is there genuinely a difference? And if there is a difference do you think it's firmware related or a hardware change?
If it's firmware, can anyone dump their firmware for it to be updated on older devices?
