performance increases for RAID0

i run virtual server 2005 on my XP box, and i just upgraded the drive that hold my guest hosts from a single seagate 160GB sata drive to a pair of 200GB maxtor satas. so far, the performance increase has been noticable, and as i realize nbench may be not be the best way to test a drive, ive gone from (100 mb read/write) 60/55 mb/sec to 115/110 mb/sec. im pretty well satisfied with that.

however, now im considering going even further, and upgrading to a nice sata controller with at least 4 channels, and going a 4 disk RAID0. i realize i might not see 180% (or even 90% as before) increase in speed, but im wondering just how significant the increase would be on a 4 drive RAID0 setup.

anyone ever try it?
 
You'll probably see no improvement with that benchmark on that board -- you'll be limited by the PCI bandwidth.
