WD 76 Raptor 8mb cache

vs.

WD 150 Raptor 16mb cache

How much faster is the 16mb cache compared to 8mb?

Well you are comparing 2 different versions of raptors. The raptor 150 is much faster than the first gen raptor 74GB, plus it is quiter than the 74GB model.

Is there a difference in speed between the 150gig 74gig and 36gig 16mb cache raptor drives ?

From what I've read, the 74GB is a tad faster is some areas, but the 150GB is faster in some other area, but yet is the fastest overall. They use the same tech, but I would recommend the 74GB or 150GB model. 36GB just isn't enough storage once you put games on there.

74 gig is fine for what i have but its the 8mb version. You know us, got to have the latest and greatest.

Not anything signifigant. Without testing with some real world apps on the same computer, all you can do is look at a low-level benchmark like HD Tach. The results I've seen on various forums show all the new drives are close, with none showing a notable advantage over the other.
