Perfomance increase with Overclocking?

What kind of performance increase do you guys get by overcloking your I7 920 system. Is there some sort of proportional increase from stcok speed to say 4.0 ghz?
 
With your graphics card you wont see any increase in fps unless the game is severely CPU limited.
Most games are GPU limited so they wont see a change.

Regarding CPU limited apps, you will see a % for % performance increase.
If you want specifics, be more specific :)
 
Well I am into photo editing of large files (15mb-25mg) with Photoshop and Lightroom. These apps are more CPU bounded
 
Yes you should see a linear increase in performance as long as they are not memory size or memory speed limited.
 
I work with 2GB size files in photoshop/illustrator/premiere etc. and the performance increase in my 9400@4.0GHz is insane in those programs. Your i7 would be a monster at 4GHz. Get to it! Good luck!
