Hi I have my AIW 9800 Pro running atitool right now trying to overclock the core. But it's been running for 6 hours non-stop and I don't know if that's too much stress on the card. The temperature is reading 58 C.
How long does it take for you guys to tweak from atitools?

Thanks

I tried ati tool and it took a long time like an hour and I gave up you have more patience than I do I guess. it said my ati9800np memory wouldnt oc more than 300mhz but I put it at 326 all the time

only an hour eh? 8 hours and 11 minutes right now. It's still going... Anybody else done more than that?

I test each build W1zzard sends me for 24 hours to test for card stability and program stability...

who's w1zzard?

Well right now it's entering it's 11th hour of non stop testing... please tell me this is normal...

any chance of card frying while running this?
i downloaded it but havent really tried o/cing...
i have some copper ramsinks and the stock cooler

and as far as i know it will run indefinately

Indefinately? You mean that it'll run forever if I don't turn it off?

I don't think you could fry your card by doing this (finding the max core) since I have a probe on my card I'm monitoring the temp. It's not going higher than 58 C.

i think im gonna get a temp probe and a vga silencer before i oc.
and where did you put the thermal probe exactly?

I put it right in between the GPU and the Heatsink. There's little space in between them so I think the temps should be pretty accurate.

I finally figured it out. My default core is 378 mhz. When click Find Max Core, It actually goes down. What I mean is that, it seems to find artifacts even if there isn't any so the atitool lowers my gpu speed. That's weird. Anybody have the same problem?

i had that problem running the memory speeds. artifacts at all speeds even lower, it went away after i restarted it tho, and went higher than stock

um anybody else seeing the problem here....he put the probe BETWEEN the gpu and heatsink. That totally defeats the purpose of a cooling system. Remove that probe immediatly and reattach the heatsink with some good thermal goop. Watch the clocks soar.

maybe just in between the shim and not touching the core perhaps?
but that still woldnt be too good...
