Pentium D 830 2mb or Dual Xeon 3.0 2mb ....

I'm building a workstation for home, mainly for solid modeling.

No videocard although I hear its "possible".
I can build a similar Pentium D system for a lesser price and know the video card will work.

So is the Xeon perfomance benefit worth it?

I'm pretty sure the Xeon will get a lot more memory bandwidth than the Pentium D. I do not know how important that is to solid modelling though.

My Precision Workstation dual 3.0 2mb Xeons is on the way. I'll let you know how I like it when it finally gets here June 30.
