Pentium Case with ECS board (amd)

my friend is all about modding. he has a pentium 2 case that he totally modded out. the theame to his case is BMW. ill get pictures later. but he got tired of the pentium so he put a AMD ECS board in there. it wouldnt fit so he modded it to fit. now he has everything hooked up except the power buttons because the cable is a ribbon not little pins. how can he make the buttons work without putting new buttons in. he was thinking about cutting the cables out of another case and fitting them to these buttons. will this work? you have any better ideas?
