Ok so i'm gonna get this mobo. Abit IC7-Max3. I can't find which processors this bad boy uses... can it use a 3.0C Ghz or 3.0E Ghz ? what do the letters mean.. I do know this mother board can take Northwood & Prescot CPUs socket ,487 800 FSB.

I think the code E means it's a prescot, and the letter C means it's a northwood? is this correct?

I would appreciated the help from you guys

What's the deal McNeal?

Thanks

Not Correct E only shows that the processor you are buying has the newer cache size, while C only shows that it corresponds to the northwood series with 800Fsb and 512 cache. While their are E series processor with both the northwood and prescott cores.

The difference between a northwood and a prescott is that a northwood is made on a .13 process and the prescott on a .09 someone correct me if I Am wrong
