Does anyone know when this CPU (preferable the quad core version) will be coming out?
I was looking to buy a new computer, just deciding if the wait to Penryn is worth it....

Also, benchmarks wise (on 3DMark 06), which would score higher: QX6800 or a dual-core Penryn at same clock speed?

Anyway, there are a few benchmarks out there for the desktop Penryns, I'd suggest Googling them.
 
The right ones to wait for desktop would be Wolfdale (2 cores) and Yorkfield (4 cores) :)

 
uhh sorry for the title... how do you chng it?

i was interested in the desktop version though... quad core..

heh, id say with quad core cpu's, software rendering just got interesting again (i remember UT2k4 supports software rendering, though i doubt it spawns a different thread for that)
