PD 920 & low end Conroe

Hi,

I was just wondering if it would be worth it buying a 920 now and overclocking it, or wait for a low end conroe? The lower end conroes are single core though, aren't they?
 
wait for a low end conroe, Pentium D 920 will be obsolete when the 1.66ghz Conroe comes out (and should be a little cheaper than the 920, only cost of time)
 
why does it say here http://www.channelregister.co.uk/2006/04/05/intel_conroe_pricing_details/

that the E6300, E6400, E6600 and E6700 are dual core,

but other places says the 6300 and 6400 are single core, http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/02/09/intel_desktop_roadmap_feb_06/? which one is right?

says the PD 940 will be the same price as the E6300 in Q3, so which one will be better (since the 940 has twice the cache is clocked higher, and is dual core)?

The caches in Conroe are shared L1 & L2. This makes is probably twice as efficient. It can be dynamically resized for each processor's needs. IE: 1x1Mb + 1x3Mb = total 4Mb, Or if you're using a single threaded app, like gaming, etc... it can dedicate almost the whole 4Mb to the core doing all the work, etc..

So a direct comparison in size shouldn't be done. I'd rather either Conroe with 2Mb or 4Mb than a Pentium D with 2x2Mb. (2x2Mb does NOT equal 4mb!)
