Anyone have any experience that they can share with PCIE card based drives? I keep seeing the OCZ revodrive popping up for similar-to-SSD Prices and was ruinous about them. Some of the reviews point out that they run quite a bit faster than even the best SSDs.
 
I haven't used one, but I read that Revodrives prior to version 3 don't support TRIM.

It looks like no Revodrives support TRIM in Windows 7 because they're not AHCI.

Although Microsoft added TRIM support in Windows 7, it only works with AHCI devices. The RevoDrive 3 is a Storport device, which is Microsoft's recommended interface for "high-performance buses, such as fibre channel buses, and RAID adapters." One might expect this interface to support the SCSI UNMAP command, but that's not the case, according to OCZ. Windows 8's Storport driver is expected to add an extension that supports TRIM, though.

I think the consensus is that they real-world performance difference isn't worth the cost/issues for most people.
