PCIe 2.1 v 2.0 backward compatability

I have a mobo which supports 2.0. Can I install a video card with v2.1 without issue?

Different versions of PCI-E 1/2/2.1 should all work in the same slot.
Just PCI and PCI-E are NOT compatible

yes 2.1 will work in 2.0.. though 2.1 will not work in a lot of older pci-e 1.0 spec slots..
