I've need a way to hook 4 SATA drives upto a board that only has 2 slots. So I was thinking of getting a PCI to SATA controller card.

All the drives hooked up to it would be storage drives with my Raptor hooked to the built in SATA slot.

I'm looking at the Promise SATA150 TX4, as it seems to do everything I need.
I also saw the Syba card using the Silicon Image 3114 chip for half the price. Any reason not to get this one?

I don't know if I'm going to RAID5 these or not, but since I'd be using software RAID, does it matter what card I get?

Not really, it's all the same. Just get as fast a processor as possible. :)
