I have a PCI Serial port card for my old external modem but for some reason it will not detect my modem. Any ideas? Windows XP says the serial PCI device is working.
 
dude, just spend 12 bucks at office max and get a pci modem.

serial is so old that its not worth it to bother. its slow anyway, especially for web browsing
 
Okay let me clear some things up.. I live in a small town that doesnt offer broadband. Yes we do have wireless but I live in such a stupid remote location that their are no towers. I am looking into ISDN at the moment however :D But until then I don't want my PC to have to deal with garbage winmodems ;)
