PCI IDE raid card?

OK, so I have a plethora of IDE hard drives and I want to put them all in 1 PC and make it into a data server. I currently have my IDE ports on my MB maxed out using 1 DVD rom drive and 3 IDE hard drives. I have 2 more IDE drives I would like to put in there too.

I have been able to find raid cards like the one below:

my question is, can I use this and not have to go raid? Like I can hook 2 completely different HD's to it and it will work fine as completely separate drives?
 
If the controller supports JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Drives), you can use it as an extra controller. Most cards do support that feature.
 
Yea, I ended up purchasing a Silicon Image one w/ CRC. It does say it suports just reg drives, and even lets you raid 2 drives that are not the same size. pretty interesting :)

it was 15 bucks shipped. It should do what I need it to. thanks for the info :)
