PCI Express x 16 replacement card.

I need to buy a replacement card for a ATI x1800 running on a Asus 8r32mvp deluxe board. The board is a PCIEx16 i think.

To be honest the last year or two has been busy and I have not kept up with the tech.

What is my best option for upgrade without getting stupid. And by that i mean sub 200 bucks. Anything more than that and i would probably justify building a new rig.

Building a new rig will mean the wife wont let me get the AK i want for christmas, so that is a no go.

Hd 4850 or a hd4870
It depends on your resolution tho.
You should be able to get a 4870 on here used for $200
I got my visiontek HD4850 NIB on here for $135

Will either of those have an issue running on an old PCIe x16 interface instead of the newer V2.0 interface?

Or is there no difference?
