Hi there,

PCI Express Mini Card is in all modern laptops and is basically ExpressCard with a different pin configuration.

In theory, we should be able to run PCIe cards from the WLAN slots in our laptop, or from the WLAN slot in the MacMini.

I'm prepared to build the harness here to test it, but I have a gut feeling that only the USB pins on the port are connected.

So... are there any guaranteed PCIe Mini Cards out there that definitely use the PCIe lanes? I'm sure Turbo Memory does, but if so, what happens when a Turbo Memory module is put into a non-Santa Rosa laptop? Does the machine recognise that anything is in the slot? If so, I think we're in business. If not, I'm sure my USB suspicions would be confirmed.

While we're at it, what exactly is the reason that Santa Rosa only can use Turbo Memory? Why not any laptop (or Mac Mini) that uses a PCIe Mini Card socket?
