I have a 6800 LE right now, stock speeds and all, but it only has 128 MB frame buffer, and even though I know RAM doesn't make a card, 128 MB cards are getting a little dated in games such as BF2. So I can get a 6800 standard from leadtek for under 200 bucks, but i'll need a new mobo which'll be a huge Pain in the ass to buy.Should I just make the move now and get it over with? i can't spend over 200 bucks, and I'm not going 6600 GT cause they only have four Raster ops, and ATI cards don't support the efficient SM3 or FP32.

right now I have
3500 venice
1 GIG of Geil value
Antec truepower 2 430 watt
MSI Nforce 3 (not going to get up and look for the box)
6800LE

save some more money and make the jump. youll thank yourself later.
For sure. Cheap NF4 board and an X800GTO2. "Super-efficient SM3.0" be damned...

Not the sm3.0, ATI cards technically have less bits of mantissa, and therefore round up, so in games even ones out now, it will just round to the nearest bit depth, which in a way sort of sucks, its like paying the price of a full precision card only to find out that it rounds up. Also call me a Fanb0I but right now I hate ATI, I hated Nvidia about a year ago, but ATI really screwed up big time, and I don't support a company that makes mistakes, no matter how little.
