I'm looking to upgrade when the big bang of new hardware arrives (PCI-E, NV40, R420, etc etc) but I'm getting tired of waiting. I'm wondering if I should just wait or get a cheapie rig
to tide me over until then?
 
I belive that R420 and NV40 should be out ina few weeks. The PCI-E ver sometime after?
 
The NV40 is to be 'launched' on April 13th. However don't expect to see it in mass quantities until late May, early June. This coincides with first production NF3250 chipset for the Athlons [the PCI-E capable ones].

ATI is rumoured to launch the R420 a few weeks after the NV40.
