My friend told me that most PCI-e implementations on motherboards have 20 lanes?
Which allows you do have a 16x and a 4x? or 2 8x and a 4x? i found a more in depth explanation of the lanes but he was very vague on what current motherboards were supporting.
Am I correct in the 20 lanes? Are there any immediate plans to offer more?
Ideally I'd like to run 2 PCI-E video cards and a PCI-E SATA II card. Are there any special considerations or limitations that I need to take into account for that configuration?
