Ghost Recon Advanced WarFighter 2 is coming soon (26 June 2007) and I need a physics card. I borrowed a PCI card for a couple weeks to check out Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. I would like to buy one but want the PCI-E version for good reason. Anyone heard anymore about the PCI-E versions availibility.

Is a phisix card going to make that big of a difference on your system? Im just asking .

I don't think that's an accurate date.

As best as I can find, there's nothing official yet, just a bunch of hardware sites saying "Maybe soon, lol!"

No it is not going to make a big difference. It is nice but If you are reading this thread you are probably a hardware junkie like me. Maybe not as addicted as myself but a hardware junkie. I just love new technology and the eye candy that comes with it. And yes I would like to have a PCI-E physics card. It does bring a little more emersion to the game.

No date at this time. As far as I can remember, it was supposed to be last year, lol.

There are going to be PCI-E cards comming out when Ageia releases the next version of their cards. I asked an employee of Ageia if he could tell me any more info about the new card but because of NDA's he cant tell me any more. If I get any more info I will post it.

Edit:
The new cards wont make the old cards obsolete just the new cards can render more physics objects in a seen (esp at distance) then the current cards (for example the games will have an "extreme" setting for the new card and a regular setting for the current one). The new cards wont be released untill sometime in Q4 07.

Thanks for the update, that encourages me to wait a little longer for the new cards, espeically since the PCI card I borrowed from its owner is in no hurry to get it back.

From what I have been told by an Ageia employee, here's what I know.

It will be faster than the current card.

WIll add more if I can find/know/remember more.
