PCI-E - Best card for under $250

My gut says 6600 256mb. But I thought Id throw it out to the group before I slap down my hard earned cash. Would a plain vanilla 6800 be a better choice.. or do they even have a PCI-E version of it yet? An ATI offering?

Opinions?
 
Look into the x700... I think it compares pretty well but am not sure... look into it.
 
The 2 fastest PCI-E cards in that range are the 6600GT 128MB and x700 Pro 256MB. I have one of each right now and i'll keep the one that's faster overall. I have a feeling the 6600GT will be faster in most things, but the x700 has a couple of advantages (includes HDTV cable, has 256MB) and it shouldn't lag in performance too badly except in Doom3.

I posted a thread in the hot deals forum on how to get the BBA x700 Pro 256MB for $155-$160AR/AC at best buy. 6600GTs can be had on price watch for around $180 shipped.
