I am not sure about your Mobo but there is PCI Express 1 and 1.1 the 1.1 fars better with 2.0 cards Like my old Gigabyte P965 DS3 Rev 3.3 as there are afew tricks in the bios on my board that will allow all most full bandwith of the PCI Express slot and one reason i have never upgraded it yet..

A couple % at 2560*1600 with high AA/AF using CrossfireX or SLI with the top end cards. Nothing that you'll actually notice playing games.
