pci controller / HD problem

Ok, so when I ran out of PATA connections on my motherboard (I have 2) I got a PCI IDE controller for another hard drive. Then SATA drives went down in price and I installed one of them, but now I can't see the drive connect to the pci controller.

Here's my relative setup:

Motherboard – DFI NFII Ultra Infinity (athlon xp-m)
PCI IDE RAID Controller Card - with SiI 0680 ultra-133 medley ATA Raid drivers
Hard Drive – 2x 80gb PATA Western Digital on MB
- 160gb PATA Western Digital on pci controller
- 160 SATA Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 on MB SATA (SiI 3114 SATALink Driver)
Optical – 1 DVD-Rom, 1 DVD+-RW

So I used to be able to see all 5 PATA devices, until I connected the SATA. I had to play around in the bios to get it to boot and when it did it saw the new SATA hard drive, and only 4 PATA directly connected to MoBo. I've messsed around with it and my computer can still see the card, just not anything attached to it, I played with the jumpers (WD's picky) but to no avail.
Oh and for some reason the card doesn't accept non-RAID IDE drivers, so it has RAID but I don't/didn't use it (only 1 drive attached).

Any ideas on why I can't see what's connected to the card, all drives work when attached to my motherboard directly. is it something in my BIOS? are the two Silicoin image drivers messing with each other?
I could always put the extra drive in an external enclosure but that defeats the purpose of the pci card. Thanks to those who read this and have some ideas.
 
What shows up in Device Management? Both cards or just the onboard? Is there an option for "enhanced" or "combined" mode in bios? Do the BIOSes of both cards run?

 
good news, and yes both were showing up in device manager, and after POST both bios versions were reported...

But I went for the long shot and tried what must have been the only combination I hadn't tried yet, normally I ran the identical 80's off the primary channel, and the 160 from the pci card, but I tried a 80 and 160 on main, and the other 80 by itself and for some reason it worked and now I have all my drives online.
Sweet, only the two I have on the same channel are leapfrogging the other 80 so my cables are severly twisted (my WD's only run on the flat IDE cables that came with the drives, no rounded) and clogging air flow I'm sure.

but long story short, just try single combination, even if it'll take longer and is non-traditional.
