its prolly something simple but i cant get a PCI and PCIe video card to run with each other.

have RDX200 mobo.

in teh bios i can set init display to PCI or PCIe.
when its in PCIe mode the PCI card comes up in device manager, but error: device cannot start.

if i boot up in PCI mode, it wont load windows on the PCI monitor (card is prolly too old...etc.) and it kicks over to the PCIe card. it comes up as 3 monitors in display settings, but it won't display anything to the PCI monitor...

basically my question is if it is possible to boot with PCIe as init display and run a psone screen off a pci card.

It's definatly possible. For a while on my DFI SLI-DR, i had a 7800GTX and a MX5500 (or something like that) and it worked no problem.

I'm assuming that your using an ATI card since you have a RDX200. Is the PCI card also ATI based? Do you have two PCI-e cards (crossfire)?

video cards are x850xt platinum single card (PCIe obviosly) and ATI mach64 GX PCI (yes...oooooldschool haha)

i uninstalled/reinstalled drivers etc...they load fine. the card has no problem starting when i boot up with init display on PCI...only problem is i think it only runs at like 256 colours er sumthin...windows logo is all blue and stuff. it shows the mobo splash fine tho
