but any who, i have never done anything like this, no PCB making, nothing remotely like this, so i figure ill practice! here is what i have gotten so far, expect more soon :)

just waitin for the copper to dissolve!

once this thing is done, ill put 12V/ ground and a 470OHM resistor on it, and it will be a LED thing, to power as many LEDS as i can fit on it :) very basic but shows me how the etching works...damn it takes a while!

Try warming up your acid solution a little bit. Warming it up even 10 or 20 degrees over room temperature will will REALLY speed it up. Be very, very careful doing it. :)
 
yea, i gotta figure something out, my god this is taking so long! been like 1 hr :/ ill bring up my space heater and heat up my room when i make my final product

now onto bigger things, the main PCB, fo rthis i will drill the holes, and mount hte IC's THEN draw on the PCB layout...


BTW: the soldering sucks major balls, but i knw how to prevetn that now, i just need to put hose hole things around each place i plan to solder, and the hole i used was WAY to big the first time too
 
i don't about where you live, but the rshack here have kit for making circuit board and bread board. it might take less time. what you did seemed really cool tho
 
bah, the RS here BLOWS, has nothing at all :/ any who, i cannot find a drill bit small enough, my town is tiny so i am only waiting on that :/
 
Ouch that was alot to dissolve!

It may go faster if you cover some portions that may not need to be desolved. It will work the same as long as it is not bridging the traces
 
yea, i am trying to save as much of all the etch resist things cuz im not sure if ill get it right the first time, need more etc. still waitin on a new drill bit... annot find one, a guy i talked to said he may have one, so he'll call if he does
 
why is it that your circuit board is so big with such a simple design?

You only have 2 traces?
 
it was just a test to see if it woudl work, how the solder stuck, how big the holes needed to be etc. thats the small sized circuit board i got, the bigger will be used for the final product, i've gotten alotta people to say they'll look for a 1/32" drill bit, a couple friends may have one, but if any one here has one, or could look around, i would be interested in buying it off of ya for cheap, online would be pretty expensive, and ebay might work, pending the response to my question also


BTW: the board isnt all that big, only about 2"X3"
