Hi,
I'm currently running an ASUS P5WDG2 Pro-based system with QX6850 CPU.
I ordered some Crucial Ballistix 1066MHz PC8500 RAM and the board only recognizes it as PC5300. Manually setting up latency, voltage etc allows me to move up to PC8500, but it's unstable under Orthos.
Does any one else with a P5-based motherboard using a 1333MHz CPU have the same problem? Is there actually PC8500 RAM I can stick into the board that will just work at top speed without fiddling about with the BIOS?
I've tried two sets of 2x1GB Ballistix on two of these motherboards and both react the same. I'm not looking to OC anything - I just want a stable, stock system.
