Hi,

I just finished building a new computer, mobo asus p5q deluxe.

I'm using 2x1GB of DDR2 1066 PC2-8500 RAM from G.Skill (8500CL5D-2GBPK), and this should be running at 800MHZ am I correct?

However, in CPU-Z, it says that the max bandwidth of my ram is PC2-6400 (400MHZ) and that the part number is F2-8500CL5-1GBPK.

Are these readings correct? I'm a little confused about CPU-Z reporting 400MHZ.

First time building a computer and messing with these things, so please bear with me

thanks

ddr1066 runs@ 533mhz. and ddr800 runs @ 400mhz.

u need to manually set the 1006 speed, timings, and voltage.

how do I figure out what timings i need to enter to get the highest stock speeds of the RAM?

The voltage is specified to be 2.0-2.1V

I understood exactly what he was saying... don't bash the poor soul! Mine says the SAME thing, as shown below.

You ram should be running at 533 mhz because it is pc8500, and therefore is 1066 mhz ram (Double data rate aka DDR is double the frequency because it has two transactions per clock if I am not mistaken) I wouldn't be too worried about it... as long as it says you are running at 533 mhz for the ram you are good to go bud.
