So heres the skinny. I had a stick of Corsair XMS memory (CMX512-3200 C2 xms3200 v.1.1). When I upgraded to a dual channel MB (Abit IS7) I got another stick of the Corsair XMS memory (CMX512-3200 C2 xms3200 v.1.2). Now in CPU-z my original stick reports as PC2700 and the new one reports as PC3200. I tried each stick alone in the system, flipfloped in their positions (dimm 1 vs. 3), and even cleared the cmos with no change. So I thought that there must be somthing wrong with my original stick of ram. I ran memtest32 v.3.0 for 4 hours with no errors returned. I ran sisoft bench marks with extreamly good results. I even confirmed several ways that the system is running in dual channel mode, and that the sticks are both running @ the same speed. I dont get it. I guess I shouldnt be worried as long as it works but Im nervous that this could be the weak point of the system. Could CPU-Z just be reading the module wrong? Is there any other programs out there that could read the memory to confirm its PCwhatever status. God this has got me bent. Any help would be great.

what does your motherboard say about your ram in bios?

i just upgraded my mobo yesterday and noticed my nf7s2.0 recognized my corsair xmms pc2700 ram as lowly pc2100 ram (grrrrr!) i had to go into the bios and change the FSB/Divider ratio to get the correct speed.

maybe there is something like this you can check out in your bios.

It means it only supports 2700 ram. Youll need a newer mobo to get the 3200 speeds.

Same thing happened to me on the same mobo. It recognized my pc3200 (ddr400) as pc2700 (ddr333). I also had to go into the bios and change the multiplier to get it to recognize the right speed.

i have the same problem, i bought PC3500 and it reports it as PC3200 i have an IC7-G anyone know how i can fix this?

IS7, only supporting 2700?

Is reading going out of style ?

;)

Just set them both to 1:1 of your CPU FSB :) Or set them to whatever it is to be 200MHz

The IS7 has an i865 chipset, chief. It can do faaar higher than 2700, I assure you.
