I recently purchased a pair of Sennheisers PC150's(headset). I was looking at buying the iCEMAT 7.1 Channel Surround-Sound external sound card, but I'm not sure if it is worth it. If I get that sound card, will the 7.1 channels really be noticable and worth it with these PC150's?

Compatibility is an issue. The ICemat software will probably not work well with most games and/or create other problems.

That and they are headphones. The only card to give a sense of surround is the
creative x-fi cmss. The 150s aren't bad but they are small and only 2 speakers not 7 + a sub. keep your money and if you have a laptop get an audigy 2 zs external.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for the info. I actually have these because my DSP-500's broke and my dad had an extra set of these PC150's(yes, my dad is a gamer). I was considering buying the Icemat Siberia's(something like the HD555 are just too expensive for my taste), and grabbing a decent 7.1 creative card(although xi-fi is also a bit much for me). I'm hoping not to spend too much over $100 at the most.

If all you are using are headphones - there's no point in worrying about 7.1 surround. You have two speakers with a pair of headphones. You need 7 plus a subwoofer for 7.1 - you will NEVER achieve any sort of true surround sound with headphones.

yup he's right. the 150s aren't bad headphones and they outright own for the $$

spend the money on an X-Fi extreme music and use cmss which is their headphone surround.

Or just run in headphone mode. IMO, stereo is perfect for gaming. Sure, you lose a lot of front/back detail, but side to side is perfect. What I do is move my view from side to side which allows me to precisely figure out where sound it coming from.
